Abstract: This report describes a measuring apparatus controlled by the PDP-11/40 process computer and used for measuring the transient magnetic fields in the Jülich TEXTOR tokamak machine. The measuring results were moreover used for numerical off-/ine computation of the amplitudes and time constants of the exponentially decaying fractions of the magnetic field which are caused by eddy currents in the meta/ parts of the machine. Six Hall field probes mounted an a rail-guided fest van were placed by computer command in 29 measuring positions evenly distributed an the machine periphery. The time-dependent vertical and radial components of the magnetic induction were alternatively measured in the horizontal and vertical direction using a Hall field probe in three equidistant measuring points lying on the cross-section surface of the toroidal vacuum vessel of the machine. Examples of the measuring results are presented in the last chapter of this report.
